Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I love to dress up as my alter ego or someone I would like to be in my next life. Halloween allows me to be bold and fearless, something I aspire to be in my everyday life. This year I wore fake eyelashes and I loved them!! This Halloween was extra special though. It was my dear friend Matt's going away party. He is going back to France because his visa expired. We had a nice intimate going away get-together at The Little Nell followed by a night out on the town. Last year was my first Halloween here in Aspen. One of the things I hear long-time Aspen residents say is "winters will bring you to Aspen but summers will keep you". Well, I have a saying of my own, "summers will bring you here but Halloween will keep you". Need I say more. Boo!

Hitchhiking 101
I had a most exciting day. Today I went cycling, it was beautiful here in Aspen. I am having a great time riding along 82 with the wind at my back and the 18 wheelers flying by when I get my first cycling flat ever. It was kinda cool. Since I am one of those girls that does not fix things I called the only person I know in Aspen that could possibly come and get me. No answer. I try 3 more times. Still no answer. So I did the only thing a girl in my situation could do. I hitchhiked!! Well, not really. I tried to hitchhike but no one would pick me up. I guess it must of been the freckles and red hair. I found it to be very liberating and vulnerable to stick your thumb out and hope someone nice will stop. At last, a nice lady who thought she knew me stopped and gave me and my specialized a lift home. As nice as this lady was to give me a lift, she told me the most grueling, horrific story of a hitchhiker who was murdered in Boston a couple of years ago. I think I will learn to change a tire.
